DEMYC-Chairman - candidate for the European Parliament!

Based on a board-decision of the Austrians Peoples Party presented by Wolfgang Schüssel, Meinhard Friedl is one of the candidates for European Parliament in the upcoming elections in June.

Meinhard Friedl is since 2001 DEMYC-chairman and active board-member of the Youth of the Austrians Peoples Party since 1997. In private life he serves as CEO of the Austrian Youth Hostel Association and Supertramp GMBH.

On the picture you see Meinhard Friedl and the former Spanish Prime-minster, Jose Maria Aznar.

The prevention of conflicts and Violence.

How can the youth create a tool to prevent conflicts and violence ?

From 28 March to 4 April 2004 The Council of Europe and DEMYC held a studysession in the European Youth Centre in Budapest. The topic was conflicts and violence and how to prevent it.

Friedl meets founders of new Danish Think-tank

At May 8th 2004, the DEMYC-chairman Meinhard Friedl had the opportunity to meet with the founders of the new Danish political Think-tank called: "Marketcenter". The markedcenter is the first of its kind in Denmark and have in a very short time had big success.

DEMYC seminar in Riga

From 4-7 March 2004 Youth of the Latvia´s Peoples Pary (YLPP and DEMYC organised a seminar in Riga, Latvia on the topic "European Integration - Old Europe and new Europe; Big countries versus small countries".

DEMYC-seminar in Copenhagen

From September 16th to September 19th 2004, Young Conservatives of Denmark hosted a DEMYC-seminar in Copenhagen. 60 participants from allover Europe was gathered in Copenhagen to talk about the topic "A new international order! How can we promote peace through intercultural dialogue". On the picture you see the DEMYC-vicechairman Kostas Giannikopoulos giving a comment during the seminar.

YRPA accepted as observer members of DEMYC!

At the 96th Executive Commitee meeting the Youth Organisation of the Republican Party of Armenia was accepted as observer-members of DEMYC. We are all looking forward to further closer coorporation with the organisation and its members. Presidential elections in Ukraine!

The former DEMYC Vice-chairman and present Secretary General of CDYU Vladislav Synyahovskyy have written an article about the up-coming Ukrainian presidential elections. Its ekstremely important that its secured that Ukraine are able to have FREE and FAIR elections, therefore all DEMYC member organisations are urged to send official observers to follow the electionproces.

Successful DEMYC study trip to Armenia.

From the 15-18 January 2004 DEMYC made a study trip to Armenia. The DEMYC delegation was made up by Diogo, Kornely and Mikkel. The Youth Of the Republican Party of Armenia (YRPA) had made a very interesting and high-ranking programme
