From the 21-24 November 2002 the 8th DEMYC Chairmen´s Conference ' The political future of Europe.

The perspectives of South-eastern Europe in the E.U. " was held in Leptokaria, Pieria, Greece in co-operation with ONNED. 

It was also hear that the DEMYC Executive Committee meeting could welcome Democrat Youth Alliance of Serbia (DYAS)and Mlodzi Konserwatysci (MK) from Poland as new Observer members as well as Youth of the Latvian Peoples Party (YLPP) as a new member of DEMYC.

DEMYC Vice-Chairman elected as member of the Advisory Council of the Council of Europe.

At the Youth Forum General Assembly which was held from the 14-16 November 2002 the DEMYC Vice-Chairman Diogo Afonso de Belford Henriques was elected to the Advisory Council of the Council of Europe. He will now work, together with the DEMYC Vice-chairman Jean-Babtiste Lemoyne who is the elected DEMYC representative in the Council of Europe Commission, work on youth policies in the Council of Europe bodies.


DEMYC contribution to the European Convention.

The 91st DEMYC Executive Committee Meeting decided that debate about the DEMYC contribution to the European Convention should continue. The member organisations therefore have until the 8th December 2003 to come with new suggestions and comments to the document. When we have received the comments and contributions the DEMYC member organisations will be invited to an online vote which will decide the final DEMYC contribution.

From the 8-10 November 2002 DEMYC made a study visit to the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.

The delegation was led by DEMYC Secretary General Mikkel Loft & DEMYC Vice-Chairmen David Ryc. The picture is from the visit to the election HQ of the Democratic Party of Serbia and includes besides the DEMYC delegation the chairmen of the Democratic Youth Alliance of Serbia (DYAS) Bojan Popadic

Regional DEMYC seminar 'Youth for a peaceful Caucasus'

The 21st EDU Party Leaders Conference took place on the 17th October 2002 in Lisbon. It was hosted by the Chairman of the Partido Social Democrata, Prime Minister José Manuel Durao Barroso.

Election in Ukraine

We are glad to inform you about the results of the elections in Ukraine. This is the first time in history of Ukraine that democratic forces won the communists. Political bloc Our Ukraine is a leader of election campaign. We won 15 regions of Ukraine from 27.
