89th DEMYC Executive Committee

The Executive Committee was opened by Mr Thierry KUNICKI, former DEMYC VP and closed by Mrs Françoise HOSTALIER, former minister and DL VP. Both they insisted on the importance of being young and involved in European politic. Thierry enlighted us with its experiences in DEMYC Bureau in the 1980’s and 1990’s. Françoise focused her speech on our role to promote the European humanism.

During the EC, the Board presented the coming events to the Members organisations. 5-12 May Strasbourg Seminar « European solidarity between national identity and multicultural society » 26-29 September in Slovakia "A new role for human rights; an increase of their importance in Clashed of Culture?”

Debate at the Senate with French politicians

Delegates from the 35 DEMYC Mos had the opportunity to meet and debate with high-ranking French politicians and businessmen of which :

• Mr Charles MILLON, MP, former Defence Minister,
• Mr Thierry JEAN-PIERRE, MEP, DL spokesman,
• Mr Dominique de CALAN, vice-chairman of the French Business Confederation (UIMM / MEDEF)

Meeting with Mr Alain Madelin

DEMYC delegates attended the huge meeting organised in a Theatre by Jeunes Liberaux to support Mr Alain MADELIN in the Presidential race. Mr MADELIN is MEP, former Economy Minister and DL Chairman.

In front of 1.000 youngs French and Europeans coming from 23 countries, MADELIN asked for a quick enlargement to the Eastern European countries. Gent STRAZIMIRI, from Albania could speak about the fall of the Communism while Jean-Baptiste LEMOYNE insisted on the archaism of Lionel JOSPIN who was nominated for the Lenin Gold Award !
