Activities

The political work in DEMYC is organised around the following events

Executive Committee 
The platform for discussions and decisions of all policy issues related to internal developments, political resolutions, future activities in several meetings a year. Every full and observer member organisations can executive one vote. The Executive Committee is assisted in the preparation of policy statements by working commissions, which are set up on an ad hoc basis.

Seminars 
There are several four-day seminars every year, together with a major week-long course at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg or Budapest in co-operation with the Council of Europe. Each meeting has a chosen political topic to be debated according to the priorities set by the Congress, the interests of the hosting country or current political developments. 

Congress 
Meets every two years to elect the Chairman, the Secretary General, Deputy Chairman and up to 7 Vice-Chairmen. The Congress adopts various policy and sets priorities for the work of the organisation. 

Chairmen’s Conference 
Chairmen’s Conference is the major political event between two congresses and is aimed at gathering national chairmen of DEMYC organisations. The Conference gives a floor for exchange ideas and experience of everyday political life. Young political leaders contribute to discussions on latest political developments in their respectful countries. 

Summer School 
Summer School is organised every year to gather a number of grass root members to discuss at length one major political issue. Summer school offers an opportunity to maintain discussions on political, economic and cultural issues in a friendly environment along with sport and social programmes. 

Study visits 
Organised on an ad hoc basis to allow for a more thorough picture of the organisation and the country visited. Study visits serve as a source of analyse of latest political actions that happened in visited countries. Objectives are given mainly to new democracies and conflict areas. 

Training Courses 
Through its co-operation with the Youth Directorate of the Council of Europe, DEMYC can send its representatives to various ltraining courses organised on an annual basis.
